Have you ever tried eating fried rice in Thailand? Fried rice is one of the typical Thai foods for Thai people to eat in daily life. It is an easy meal you can cook at home by yourself quickly and it is pretty healthy as you can add lots of vegetables to mix in. You can just make a meal out of old rice you have left to create something interesting out of it and it is also a good dish for those who are not into spicy Thai food.

Let’s have a look at the ingredients to make Thai fried rice and how to cook step by step in this article together. Don’t worry if you do not have much experience in cooking as it is not complicated at all. It is one of the first dishes you can start practicing cooking by yourself. The secret of yummy Thai food is its ingredients. Have a look at the Asian corner in your nearby supermarket for this.

Ingredients:

  1. Cooking oil

  2. Garlic

  3. Rice (better be Jasmine rice)

  4. Eggs

  5. Soy sauce

  6. Oyster sauce

  7. Type of meat you prefer (chicken, pork, shrimp, salmon)

  8. Vegetables you like but normally we use onion, green onion, tomato, carrot, etc.

  9. Lime (or Lemon)

  10. Fish sauce 

  11. Chili 

How to:

  1. Cook rice and let it cool down.

  2. Cut all the vegetables into small pieces. 

  3. Put oil on the pan.

  4. Put chopped garlic on the pan and stir fry them until it gets yellow and smells good.

  5. Put meat on the pan and fry them together with the chopped garlic.

  6. Put a few eggs on the side and stir them with the meat.

  7. Add your cut vegetables starting from the hardest one first which can be carrot, onion, and tomatoes, respectively.

  8. Add the taste with soy sauce and oyster sauce a little bit (You can always add more salty taste later with fish sauce)

  9. You can add a bit of soup, broth, or water to not let the meal too dry.

  10. Fry them all together a little longer and then it should be ready to serve!

You can light up your Thai fried rice to be yummier with “Prik Nam Pla” which can be made from fish sauce and chopped chili mixed together.
